Poland Ready To Hand Over MiG Fighter Jets To Ukraine In Exchange For Drones

Warsaw is ready to hand over the planes now.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has announced the 48th military aid package to Ukraine for 200 million zlotys (about $55.9 million at the exchange rate of the Polish central bank). The politician said this on February 5 in Kiev at a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.

The video was published on Zelensky's Facebook.

Tusk said the core of the package will be armored vehicles.

"I know that Ukraine needs various forms of air defense, in particular certain types of ammunition and missiles. We can't help with everything," the Polish prime minister said.

Tusk said that "if the need for MiGs remains, Poland is ready to transfer these planes right now."

"We talked here about mutual exchange, and Ukraine is ready for such an exchange. We are talking about Ukrainian drones, because we want to build an effective anti-drone system in Poland, and cooperation with Ukraine is a priority for us in this matter," the Polish prime minister emphasized.
