Friday, February 6, in the capital of Oman.
The United States and Iran have agreed to hold talks in Muscat, Oman, on Friday, February 6.
According to Reuters.
So, Iran's foreign minister said talks with the United States were scheduled for Friday around 10:00 a.m. and would be held in Muscat, Oman's capital, despite previous reports of their cancellation.
The meeting was initially scheduled to take place in Istanbul, but Tehran suggested moving it to Oman to limit the discussion to the nuclear issue.
High-ranking U.S. officials, including Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner and U.S. special envoy Steven Whitkoff, are expected to attend the talks along with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi.
The two sides have yet to agree on an agenda for the meeting, with Tehran insisting on discussing its nuclear program exclusively, while Washington wants to include ballistic missiles and regional security issues.
Despite disagreements on the agenda, both sides reaffirmed their readiness for dialogue, hoping that the talks will help avoid escalation and contribute to stabilizing the situation in the Middle East.
The talks are taking place against the backdrop of escalating tensions in the Middle East. The US is building up its military presence in the region following Trump's threats of a possible strike on Iran, while Iran fears that any military scenario could destabilize the situation inside the country.
The US has sent an additional warship to the Middle East due to escalating tensions with Iran.
