Zelensky: Return Of Ukrainian Men From Abroad Would Help The Army

The Ukrainian president has already discussed this issue with a European leader.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky believes that the return of Ukrainians of draft age from abroad to Ukraine would help the army.

He said this in an interview with "Czech Radio".

"In my opinion, it would be very desirable to help those military men who are at the front, who because of the fact that sometimes there are not enough guys, there is no rotation. And that would be very fair. For the military to have a vacation, to be able to see their relatives, their loved ones, just to have a rest. You know, like returning to the embrace of your family, which is very important, it gives you energy," the head of state said.

Zelensky believes that there are young Ukrainians in the Czech Republic who could be in Ukraine and help the army.

"I think it is important, and our internal communication may not reach there (in the Czech Republic, - ed.). It is very important that everyone wants this," the Ukrainian president said.

Zelensky also said that he was approached by a European leader with a question about Ukrainian men abroad. He asked Zelensky to invite Ukrainians to return home.

"And I told him that I can invite them to Ukraine. I can do that. But how will it work? If a person escaped from the war... There were different people. There were those who ran away from the war, and then came back and defended the state. And some people took their families out and then returned to the front.... So there are different cases. But, of course, the more of our young people who went abroad, who are physically capable and of mobilization age, would return here, the easier it would be for our army, our people and Ukraine," the President of Ukraine added.
