Zelensky: Vasyl Malyuk Resigns As Head Of SBU

The former head was instructed to strengthen the direction of special operations against the Russian Federation.

Vasyl Malyuk is resigning from the post of the head of the Security Service of Ukraine. This was officially confirmed by the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky.

He instructed Malyuk to make the direction of Ukrainian asymmetric operations the strongest in the world.

"Met with Vasyl Malyuk. Thanked him for his combat work and suggested to focus on just such work. There should be more Ukrainian asymmetric operations against the occupier and the Russian state, more of our strongest results in destroying the enemy. Vasyl Maliulievich knows how to do it best and this is what he will continue to do in the SBU system. I entrusted Vasyl Maliuk to make the direction of our asymmetric operations the strongest in the world. We have the resources and proper political support for this. Together we discussed candidates to elect a new head of the SBU. Glory to Ukraine!" - The President of Ukraine noted.

The head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Vasyl Malyuk also announced his resignation from the post.

"I am resigning from the post of the chairman of the Security Service. I remain in the SBU system to implement asymmetric world-class special operations, which will continue to inflict maximum damage to the enemy.

I am sure that a strong and modern special service is the guarantee of security of our state. The changes that the President of Ukraine is introducing in the sphere of defense are aimed at this, and I thank him. I believe in a just peace and prosperity of Ukraine," Vasyl Maliuk was quoted as saying by the SBU's Telegram channel.

He did not specify what specific position he would hold.
