Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky suggested that the government appoint Denis Shmygal as Ukraine's first deputy prime minister and energy minister.
"Met with Denis Shmygal. Thank you for the systematic work in the Ministry of Defense and the processes that have been activated to ensure the protection of our state. It is such systematic work that is necessary now for the Ukrainian energy sector," Zelensky said.
According to him, it is important that after each Russian strike Ukraine can promptly restore what has been destroyed and that the development of the Ukrainian energy sector is stable and sufficient for Ukrainian needs.
"We held consultations with Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko, and I count on the support of parliamentarians for such an approach and the position of the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy for Denis Shmygal," the Ukrainian president said
