FT: Kiev Has Not Received Signals From Moscow About The "energy Truce"

Trump earlier said Putin had agreed to stop strikes in Ukraine for a week.

Ukrainian authorities learned from US President Donald Trump's speech about his request for Russia to temporarily halt strikes on Ukraine, Financial Times (FT) journalist Christopher Miller reported in X, citing officials.

He said Kiev had received no signals from Russia and was not sure whether an "energy truce" would actually come.

Trump spoke about his request at a White House meeting. According to the Republican, he personally urged Vladimir Putin to stop strikes for a week because of severe frosts (in early February, according to Ukrhydrometcenter, in some regions of Ukraine the temperature at night can fall to minus 27 degrees Celsius) and the latter responded with an agreement.
