The commander of the AFU battalion Roman Kovalev has recorded a video in which he says he is in the center of Kupyansk-Uzlovoye against the background of the House of Culture. The author gives the date of the shooting as January 29, and notes that he did not wear a bulletproof vest because the town is controlled by Ukrainian armed forces.

The capture of Kupyansk-Uzlovoy, located on the eastern bank of the Oskol River south of Kupyansk, was reported last Tuesday by Russian General Staff chief Valery Gerasimov. According to independent military experts, the general's report does not correspond to reality.
