Weather forecasters warned Belarusians about the most severe cold snap of this winter. According to forecasts, by the weekend, the thermometer columns may return to twenty-degree values, which Belarusians have already seen this season. But this time, according to experts, it will not be the limit and we may well see thirty and even lower, writes "Telegraf".

According to the authors of the thematic Telegram channel "Meteoweib," tomorrow, January 30, Belarus will be on the southern periphery of the cold Scandinavian anticyclone, and cold northern air will start to arrive. Under normal conditions in January, it would bring the same twenty-degree frosts, but this time the weather picture is unfolding somewhat differently.

The situation will be aggravated, according to experts, by a colder core of the anticyclone from the Kara Sea, which will join this Scandinavian anticyclone. In addition, an active southern cyclone will begin to shift and deepen from the Black Sea to the Volga region, while its rear part will only strengthen the advance of frosty Arctic air to the southwest.

"As a result, a very cold air mass with a negative temperature anomaly of 15-20 ° C and more will start to arrive in Belarus at the weekend and early next week! There is a high probability of daily records of minimum temperatures," the experts warned.

Based on the data of the European numerical weather forecast model ECMWF, on Saturday night, January 31, the temperature will fall to -25°C in northern Belarus, on Sunday, February 1, at night in most parts of the country thermometers will show -21...-27°C, and in some places -30°C.
