The decision is seen as a signal of political rapprochement with the European Union.

Ambassadors of European Union member states on Wednesday gave the green light to allocating a 20 million euro non-lethal military aid package to Armenia.

This was reported by Radio Liberty's Europe editor Rickard Jozwiak, citing his sources.

According to him, this is the largest non-lethal military aid package for Yerevan provided under the European Peace Fund.

"EU ambassadors today approved the largest non-lethal military aid package for Armenia to date - 20 million euros - within the framework of the European Peace Fund," he said.

Jozwiak emphasized that the move is another sign of Armenia's gradual rapprochement with the European Union amid the country's preparations for crucial parliamentary elections due this year.
