"Lukashenko Has Nothing To Hope For."

The dictator should forget about the port in Klaipeda.

Political analyst of the Center for European Policy Analysis Ekaterina Glod believes that Europe will impose new sanctions against Lukashenko's regime. She said in an interview with "The Ordinary Morning":

- Europe is not going to establish a dialog with Lukashenko, and until repressions are stopped - he has nothing to hope for. Restoration of roads through Lithuania, access to the port of Klaipeda to sell potash - it is unrealistic for today.

There is just a clear division and understanding between what the U.S. is doing about the release of political prisoners and Europe. The U.S. is not pressuring the EU for the Europeans to start negotiations with Lukashenko.

There is a clear double track for Europe to continue its sanctions - and it continues them and will impose new ones until the repression in Belarus stops. And the Americans are working to free political prisoners.
