Kiev has no intention of changing course.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga has noted that Ukraine has not changed its course towards NATO membership despite all the events of recent months.
He said this in an interview with "European Pravda".
When asked whether joining the North Atlantic Alliance remains Ukraine's goal, the minister answered in the affirmative.
"Yes, our goal is unchanged. I am grateful that you constantly ask about it, I am ready to repeat it. Because there should be no doubt about this goal. The goal of joining NATO is defined by the Constitution, it is the choice of our people," Sibiga emphasized.
He stressed that no third country - and above all Russia - can block Ukraine's membership in any alliance or union.
"Yes, there is no consensus in NATO about Ukraine's accession, this is also true. But we have established a very effective and political practical interaction. I am constantly invited to meetings of NATO ministers. Ambassadors of key NATO states, including American Ambassador Whitaker, came to visit us," Sibiga added.
He also confirmed that the delegation even went to the command post of Ukraine's defense forces at one of the frontline sites. "This is true. And they communicated with our military. I know how it works on foreign officials," Andriy Sibiga said.
