"Gazprom is under attack.
EU countries have finally approved a plan to completely abandon Russian gas by the end of 2027. Meanwhile, in Russia, 2025 has become the worst year for trade in a decade amid massive bankruptcies.
The Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine reports that.
Energy isolation and sanctions pressure
The European Union has officially set deadlines for cutting off Russian energy supplies. According to the decision, imports of liquefied natural gas (LNG) will cease by the end of 2026 and pipeline fuel by September 30, 2027.
At the same time, the U.S. and EU have agreed to protect Greenland's resources. The new agreement provides for the creation of a supervisory body that will prevent Russia and China from obtaining mineral exploration rights on the island.
The German Foreign Ministry criticizes Russia for its uncompromising stance on territorial issues.
The German company Uniper has filed a lawsuit against Russia's Gazprom in international arbitration in Geneva. The claim is for 45 million euros for breach of gas transportation contracts.
Mass bankruptcies
2025 was the worst year for Russian trade in the last 10 years.
Intelligence writes that only 173,000 new companies appeared in Russia during the year - the lowest result in 14 years. The number of liquidated firms jumped to 233 thousand. There were 26% more closures than openings.
According to the service, business activity collapsed in 60 regions, including Moscow and St. Petersburg. The number of contracts for special equipment and transportation fell by 30-46%, effectively halting the renewal of production facilities.
Children's food as a "luxury"
Financial pressure on ordinary Russians has reached a critical line. More than half a million citizens have officially declared themselves bankrupt.
Sales of goods for children fell by 8%, and demand for baby food collapsed by 12%. The reason is the rapid price increase by 44%.
66% of purchases of children's items are now made through second-hand services.
Psychological breakdown
With economic powerlessness in Russia, a historical record of sedative consumption has been recorded.
Citizens purchased 22.3 million packs of antidepressants worth 20.5 billion rubles. Compared to 2022, the demand jumped 2.4 times.
Educational coercion
Russian colleges are introducing strict restrictions on paid training in law and economics.
The authorities officially claim that this is being done to overcome the personnel shortage in industry.
The Kremlin's goal is to artificially redirect young people into working specialties, effectively depriving applicants of a choice of profession. Due to the shortage of workers in defense plants and construction, the state is deliberately cutting prestigious fields in an attempt to fill vacancies at machine tools.
Geopolitical isolation and pressure on Belarus
Moscow is trying to compensate for internal losses with full control over Belarus, rigidly suppressing any attempts by Minsk to play an independent game.
But Belarus itself is showing critical signs of degradation: a $1.3 billion trade deficit and the rapid extinction of major cities.
In response to these threats, NATO is already preparing to create a "robotic no-man's zone" on its borders with aggressors to minimize the risks of direct confrontation.
