The country's authorities decided not to renew transportation licenses.
Latvia will stop regular bus routes to Belarus and Russia, reports Infotrans Media Belarus.
Instead of a direct ban on travel, the country's authorities have decided not to renew transportation licenses. This means that as soon as the licenses expire, the bus routes will be closed.
The Ministry of Transport of Latvia has previously instructed the Road Transport Directorate to prepare a legal justification for this measure. Now regular bus transportation to Belarus is provided by Latlines and Dautrans.
The license of Dautrans for the route to Vitebsk will expire on January 31, 2026. The license of Latlines for the route to Minsk will expire on February 26, and the route to Gomel, which passes through Polotsk, Vitebsk, Orsha and Mogilev, will cease to exist on June 27 this year.
