Washington's foreign policy is too unpredictable.
Europe is increasingly discussing the possibility of creating a new military alliance based on the "Coalition of the willing," which could include Ukraine without U.S. participation.
This is according to an analytical piece by Politico.
The reason for such discussions are changes in the foreign policy of the United States and growing doubts about Washington's further role in ensuring European security.
According to Politico, European states, including the U.S. and Ukraine, have been discussing the possibility of creating a new military alliance based on the "Coalition of the willing," which could include Ukraine without U.S. participation. It is a constant contact between national security advisers of some 35 governments.
They regularly hold online meetings, face-to-face talks and keep in touch in informal chats. This format has allowed decisions to be made quickly at a time when the U.S. position was becoming less predictable.
"When events are fast-paced, it's hard to coordinate, and this group is really effective. It says a lot about personal relationships and the importance of them," said one of Politico's interlocutors.
