The total aid amounted to £4.5 billion.

In 2025, the UK has allocated £70 million to buy 350 ASRAAM aircraft missiles for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

This was reported by the Ukrainian Defense Ministry.

According to the Defense Ministry, the funds for the purchase of ASRAAM missiles for the AFU were allocated to the Extraordinary Revenue Acceleration (ERA) mechanism, which is a G7 initiative. These are loans to Ukraine that are repaid with profits from frozen Russian sovereign assets.

In the framework of the ERA, Kiev has received nearly $28 billion in funding from G7 countries and the European Union in 2024-2025. Last year, London also handed over two new Gravehawk anti-aircraft systems to Ukraine.

Denmark is also involved in funding the project. It is expected that in 2026, 16 more Gravehawk anti-aircraft systems will be in service with the AFU.

The UK contributed a total of £2.26bn to the ERA initiative last year. London's total aid to Kiev in 2025 is £4.5bn.

London has never before provided such significant financial assistance to Ukraine in a single year.

Tactical and technical characteristics of the ASRAAM

ASRAAM is a British short-range aircraft missile that can also be used on ground-based platforms. It has a thermal imaging homing head with a CCD array that produces an infrared image of the target. The UK Army adopted it in 2002. The media claims that it took about 25 years to develop this missile. The missile is 2.9 meters long, 166 mm in diameter and weighs 88 kg. The warhead weighs 10 kg. The range of fire is about 25 km (according to other data - about 50 km). The range of fire from ground platforms is 10 km.
