Ukrainian Defense Forces Repelled Dozens Of Attacks On Pokrovsk

Ukrainian defense forces repelled 153 attacks by Russian invaders over the day, inflicting significant losses on them. The hottest battles continued in the Pokrovsky, Gulyaipol and Konstantinovsky directions.

As of the evening of January 16, 2026, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold back the offensive of Russian troops and inflict fire defeat on them.
During the day, 153 combat clashes were recorded, Russian invaders carried out 55 airstrikes, dropping 144 guided bombs, as well as used 4,730 kamikaze drones and carried out 2,738 shelling of Ukrainian troops' positions and settlements.
In the North Slobozhansky and Kursk directions, the enemy carried out two attacks, launching three airstrikes and 118 shellings, of which nine were from multiple rocket launchers.
In the South Slobozhansky direction, the Russians attacked 11 times in the areas of Prilepka, Volchansk, Volchanskiye Khutors, Chugunovka, Ambarne, Degtyarny and towards Kruglyy.
In the Kupyansk direction, the enemy was advancing towards Petropavlivka, and in the Limansk direction, the Defense Forces repelled four assaults in the areas of Novovodyanoye, Kolodyazov and Dibrova.
In the Konstantinovsky direction, there were 18 military clashes. Ukrainian defenders repelled attacks near Konstantinovka, Aleksandro-Shultino, Pleshcheyevka, Ivanopolye, Yablonovka, Rusiny Yar and Sofiyivka.
In the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy made 43 attacks in the areas of Shakhmatnoye, Nikanorovka, Rodynskyi, Mirnograd, Kotlinoye, Udachnoye and Molodetskyi.
Destroyed 141 occupants, 87 of whom were irrecoverable, as well as four units of automotive equipment, 33 UAVs, a communications antenna, an anti-tank missile system, enemy control points and warehouses.
In the Alexandrovsky direction five attacks were repulsed, in the Gulyaypol direction 28 clashes took place, and in the Orekhovsky direction the enemy tried to break through the defense six times.
In the Pridneprovsky direction no offensive actions of the enemy were recorded, in other directions there were no significant changes in the situation.
Since the beginning of 2026 Russian troops have intensified attacks along the entire front line.
