In Zhodzina, Minsk voblast, in the evening, January 15, there was a break in the heating main. As a result of the accident, a dozen houses were left without heating on the night, when forecasters predicted twenty-degree frosts, writes "Telegraf".

The breakdown of the heating main "floated" in the Scientific neighborhood, near Timiriazev Street. Local residents shared footage of a floating lake formed at the site of the break.

Immediately after the accident seven four-storey houses, several five-storey buildings on Timiryazeva Street, cottages on Venissie Avenue, on Nauchnaya Street, as well as kindergarten No. 8, located at 1 Timiryazeva Street, were disconnected from heating.

According to the specialists of Minskenergo RUE, a 259 mm diameter pipe of the heating main burst. The breach was promptly localized, but the repair work took all night, so the residents of the affected neighborhood had to spend the last frosty night, warming themselves without central heating.

Two brigades and three units of special equipment were involved in the emergency area. However, in the course of the commissioning work, another damage to the network was discovered, which is now to be eliminated by specialists.

According to the official Telegram-channel of Zhodzina City Executive Committee, the repair work is currently ongoing. The reason for the damage to the pipeline has not been announced yet.
