Famous Belarusian soccer coach Yuri Pyshnik has died. He was 84 years old, the Belarusian Football Federation Association (ABFF) reported.
As a player, Yuri Pyshnik defended the colors of Minsk "Dynamo" and "Urozhay", Grodno "Neman", Gomel "Spartak" and "Alga" from the capital of Kyrgyzstan.
After his career ended, Pyshnik became one of the most famous children's coaches in Belarusian soccer. He worked with young athletes for 38 years. Most of them - in the Republican School of Olympic Reserve, and earlier five years in the capital's SDYUSHOR-5.
"His pupils participated in prestigious competitions, many of them became famous soccer players. During Yuri Pyshnik's time as a coach of the school's team his pupils became national champions 25 times. Among the pupils of the club many later played for the national team of the Republic of Belarus, including Artem Kontsevoy, Leonid Kovel, Dmitry Lentsevich, Yuri Zhevnov, Alexander Martynovich, Vitaly Kutuzov, Anton Putilo, Sergei Kislyak, Vadim Skripchenko and Viktor Gancharenko," reported the ABFF.
