For justifying Russian aggression and insulting the military.

The Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office has opened a criminal case against the head of the Russian Anti-Corruption Foundation Leonid Volkov on charges of justifying Russia's armed aggression, Sota writes. The publication published a copy of the response from the Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office to one of the applicants in the case.

The case against the Russian oppositionist was also reported earlier by the Ukrainian edition Hlavcom. According to it, criminal proceedings were opened under the articles on justification of Russian aggression (part 3 of article 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and insulting the honor and dignity of the military (article 435-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) after an appeal by a Verkhovna Rada deputy from the "Servant of the People" party Olga Vasilevskaya-Smaglyuk. Under these articles, Volkov could face up to eight years in prison.

On January 5, former FBC employee Anna Tiron, who is now a political representative of the RDK, published a screenshot of a message received from Leonid Volkov. It was sent after information about the death of the head of the RDK Denis Kapustin appeared in the media - later it became known that it was staged to prevent an assassination attempt.

Volkov makes boorish and insulting remarks about Denis Kapustin, head of the Russian Volunteer Corps (RDK) fighting on the side of Ukraine, and Ukrainian officials - the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine (OP) Kyrill Budanov (at the time of Volkov's writing, he was in charge of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine - Ed.) and OP advisor Mikhail Podolyak.

In it, Volkov calls Kapustin's "death" a "denazification," the RDK a "clown unit," and Budanov and Podolyak "thieves who will go to jail." The head of the FBK himself acknowledged the authenticity of the correspondence.

On January 6, the Lithuanian Migration Department asked the State Security Department for additional advice on a possible threat to national security in connection with the words of Leonid Volkov, head of the Russian Anti-Corruption Foundation. He may be deprived of his residence permit in this country.
