German Foreign Minister Johann Wadeful during his visit to the United States met with members of the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives, with whom he discussed, among other things, further support for Ukraine.

The German Foreign Ministry reported.

"Germany's relations with the United States are historically established and so multifaceted as with almost no other country. In Washington, the German Foreign Minister met today with parliamentarians from the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives," the report said.

It is noted that "broad consensus and broad political support" are needed to maintain close cooperation between Berlin and Washington, in particular on the issue of assistance to Ukraine.

"In order to continue to be able to cooperate so closely, in particular on the issue of support for Ukraine, broad consensus and broad political support - including in Parliament - are needed," the ministry added.
