The Ukrainian politician is suspected of bribing MPs.

The head of one of the parliamentary factions of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is suspected of bribing MPs for voting on specific bills. This was reported in the press service of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine.

"NABU and SAP exposed the head of one of the deputy factions of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on the offer of illegal benefits to a number of people's deputies, who are members of the factions not headed by this person, for voting "for" or "against" certain bills," the agency said in a statement.

The preliminary legal qualification of the case is part 4 of Article 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. It provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of five to ten years with possible confiscation of property.

The names of the defendants have not yet been officially disclosed. The NABU said that the details would be made public later.

At the same time, the "Ukrayinska Pravda" newspaper quoted its sources as saying that NABU detectives and prosecutors from the SAP were searching the office of the Fatherland party. We are talking about the premises in Kiev on Turovska Street.

In addition, the Schema project, citing a source in the anti-corruption bodies, claims that the head of the Fatherland faction, Yuliya Tymoshenko, is a person involved in the investigation.
