How Belarus Is Involved In Shahed Attacks On Ukraine

The effectiveness of interception of Russian attack drones in Ukraine is decreasing, including due to Russia's active use of Belarusian airspace. This was stated by the president of the All-Ukrainian Aviation Organization Hennady Khazan on air of the TV channel "Kyiv24".

According to him, not only routes through the territory of Belarus are used for attacks, but also electronic control facilities located there.

"Belarus' airspace and electronic facilities located on its territory are partially used. The leadership of this state, in fact, allows the Russian military to use the frequency resource belonging to the Republic of Belarus to control drones," said the expert.

Khazan emphasized that this is another confirmation of Belarus' participation in the armed aggression against Ukraine.

"If the drones are controlled from the territory of the Russian Federation - it's one situation. If the flight is fully automatic - it is another. But when the control is carried out from the Republic of Belarus - it is the third, and in this case other means of air defense should be used to destroy the air target," he explained.

In addition, the expert pointed out the limited capabilities of Ukrainian air defense.

"We understand that we do not have the necessary amount of countermeasures. To shoot down 100 air targets, we need about 120 means of destruction, and such resources are not enough now," Khazan added.
