Trump Congratulated Meta's New President On His Appointment To The Post

The US president praised Mark Zuckerberg for making a "great choice".

Former deputy national security adviser to the US president Dina Powell McCormick has become president and vice chairman of Meta's board of directors. US President Donald Trump congratulated her on her appointment.

"Congratulations to Dina Powell McCormick, who has just been named Meta's new president. A great choice by Mark Zuckerberg! She is an amazing and very talented person who has served the Trump administration with strength and distinction," he wrote on his Truth Social.

The company said in a press release that McCormick will become a member of Meta's management team and will help define overall strategy and execution. She will also collaborate with the computing and infrastructure teams to ensure investments are executing on target and driving positive economic impact in communities around the world.

"In addition, she will lead efforts to create new strategic capital partnerships and find innovative ways to expand our long-term investment opportunities," the company added.

Republicans have previously criticized Meta for hiding content that could damage the reputation of the Trump believed Zuckerberg was one of those plotting against him during the 2020 election.

The Republican told Fox News in August 2024 that Zuckerberg called him to apologize for mistakes. In late November of that year, the Meta CEO dined at Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.
