Five dead.
A terrorist attack took place in Jerusalem on the morning of September 8: assailants opened fire on people at a bus stop near the Ramot interchange on the northern outskirts of the city. Five people were killed and at least ten were injured, both by gunfire and broken glass, Ynetnews reported.
Police said that at 10:13 a.m., two assailants began shooting at the Route 62 bus and at people nearby. Two men, an Israel Defense Forces soldier and an armed civilian, shot both men with return fire.
The Magen David Adom ambulance service said the victims were taken to Shaarei Tzedek and Hadassah hospitals. Blood supplies from the central bank in Ramle were rushed there for emergency transfusions.
Preliminary reports said the attackers were Palestinians from East Jerusalem. They were carrying a "karlo" assault rifle, an artisanal analog of the Swedish Carl Gustaf m/45 assault rifle, which is widely used in the Palestinian territories.
