A Russian propagandist is about to undergo surgery.

The chief of the Russian propaganda television channel Russia Today, Margarita Simonyan, told her colleague Vladimir Solovyov on air that she had been diagnosed with a "terrible serious illness."

"I have an operation tomorrow - just under this order," Simonyan's chest on the left side hung the Order of Equal-to-the-Apostles Princess Olga, 3rd degree, for "Preserving Traditional Values," which she had been presented with the day before by Patriarch Kirill.

Simonian's husband, propagandist Tigran Keosayan, suffered a clinical death eight months ago and is in a coma.

Simonian said she allegedly wanted to go to fight in Ukraine afterward.
