Lithuania is sounding the alarm over the overnight shelling of Kiev.
The massive shelling of Kiev and Ukraine on the night of September 7 indicates that the Russian regime has opened a new phase of war against Ukraine. The Kremlin has used a record number of drones and missiles, this cannot be ignored.
Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kiastutis Budrys said this, RBC-Ukraine reported, citing his post on X (Twitter).
According to Budrys, Russian aggression against Ukraine is intensifying on a daily basis. On the night of September 7, Ukraine was subjected to an unprecedented strike from the occupiers - more than 800 drones and missiles the enemy directed at different regions of the country.
The Russian attack affected multi-story buildings and infrastructure, there are dead and injured. Even the Ukrainian government building was targeted.
- This marks a dangerous new phase of Moscow's terrorist campaign - and all this at a time when President Trump and European leaders are working to achieve peace," the minister wrote.
Budrys added that instead of negotiations, the Russian regime is doubling down on violence and defiantly rejecting diplomacy. The Kremlin's insolence should not go unanswered.
-Russia needs tougher sanctions and Ukraine should receive modern air defense systems - immediately. Delay only fuels aggression," he summarized.
