The Kremlin will not dictate the terms of peace.
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney is convinced that the international community and the Ukrainian Defense Force must put maximum pressure on Russia to make peace.
His words were quoted by CBC.
On Friday, Sept. 5, Carney said Canada and other allies should continue to put "maximum pressure" on Moscow.
He said Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin "has not yet accepted the need for peace."
"Putin is the cause of this war, he is the cause of the killing. He will not dictate the terms of peace," he emphasized.
Carney said that allied pressure on Russia would include imposing new sanctions, ensuring the arming of Ukrainian troops and supporting Ukraine "after the cessation of hostilities."
The Canadian prime minister added that the next round of sanctions is now being prepared by Ukraine's allies.
