Lukashenko, Silage And "barinas"

The story of the chairwoman of the Zavidovskoye collective farm is illustrative of this.
It seems that the managerial manner of the director of the agricultural enterprise "Zavidovskoye" Tatiana Belyan has impressed not only the Dobrushka prosecutor's office, but also the pro-government press, writes "Salіnіske".com/post/o-chem-govorit-delo-dobrushskoj-baryni-kormivshej-podchinennyx-silosom/209270/">"Salidarnasts".
- Law enforcers found out: hiding "dead carcasses" is not the only sin of the former owner of the complex. The farm really for some time had good characteristics, production was famous for strong labor discipline. But the method of carrot and stick was now and then beyond the law. Her subordinates called her "barinya" for her cruel temper. She beat her subordinates, forced them to eat silage," reported in the story of the regional TV channel "Belarus 4."
For a minute - we're talking about the manager, who was given the title "Man of the Year of Homel region" by the authorities just two years ago, and whose name has not been taken off the pages of officialdom.
- The most difficult thing is to work with people. For effective management the director should be an authority, let everything pass through him, strive for new knowledge. (...) Care about the man of labor, working conditions is in the first place, - one of the regional newspapers quoted the director of the collective farm, who for more than ten years falsified the statistics of cattle deaths.
An interesting point: according to the victims, the "Zavidovskaya barina" beat and humiliated them right at their workplace - in her own office, in the farmyard, on the farm.
And again to quote Tatiana Belyan:
- We have had video surveillance installed for many years. Recently we solved the theft of a bicycle. Besides, the cameras allow me, as a manager, to monitor the situation at the enterprise when I am out on the road. Cameras discipline: to work well, to come on time, not to conceal problems.
In this regard, the question arises: what happened to those very cameras in the moments of "discipline lessons" performed by the director? Didn't the records from the cameras (if they were kept) suffer the same fate as the reports on cattle grazing?
It's hard to believe that with so many victims of the director's fists, the information about it didn't leak out. It is possible that the unpleasant truth came out only due to the campaign launched from above against the cover-up of cattle deaths. Perhaps, only after the first trial people decided not to keep silent anymore.
Is such behavior of the "man of the year" surprising? Not at all. It seems that Tatyana Belyan was absolutely sincere when she shared with the propaganda her ideas about an ideal leader, citing the example of the former director of the Shklou state farm.
The same one who was accused of beating up workers. If he had stayed in office, perhaps he would have also received the title of "barin".
Thirty years of Lukashenko's rule, boorishness, rudeness and inconsiderateness have become an element of corporate ethics, a hallmark of managers of all stripes in the public sector - from ministers to ordinary collective farm chairmen.
Forcibly feeding a subordinate with silage is certainly a savagery. As well as forcing a minister to crawl on his knees across a field in front of cameras and look for grain.
Bullying an employee, not allowing him to quit, is no better than promising people to return serfdom by making them work for free diplomas according to the Constitution.
The principle of "sometimes it's not about the laws" was tacitly in effect long before it was finally given the status of a general line at a meeting of prosecutors in the fall of 2020.
That's why "barins" and "barinas" have been receiving certificates and bonuses instead of criminal sentences for years.
