Footage of the aftermath has surfaced.
Satellite images have shown the result of the Ukrainian Defense Forces' attack on the Kasta-2E2 radar station (radar) in the Krasnodar region of the Russian Federation.
The Kasta-2E2 radar came under attack on September 2. Satellite images taken on September 4 were published by the Telegram channel Exilenova+.
The affected hangars can be seen in the photo. According to the author of the publication, satellite images indicate damage to two generators that power the radar station.
Militarny notes that the station was covering the southern part of the Russian Federation from the territory of a radar military unit located in the south of Anapa. According to the portal, the Russians have been using radar stations there for more than a decade, trying to hide them under domes.
"This is confirmed by the testimonies of local residents, former servicemen of this unit, as well as the neglected look of the territory, where for some time they even conducted excursions," the publication noted.
What is known about the Kasta-2E2 radar
The Kasta-2E2 is a mobile low-altitude three-coordinate all-around surveillance radar of the duty mode, designed to monitor the airspace, determine the range, azimuth, flight altitude echelon and trace characteristics of air objects.
The radar is capable of detecting aircraft, helicopters, remotely piloted vehicles, cruise missiles and other air objects, including those flying at low and extremely low altitudes.
We would like to recall that on the night of September 4, the Ukrainian Defense Forces attacked the air defense base of the Russian Armed Forces in the Rostov region and damaged two radar stations there.
