Zelensky: Trump Is Very Unhappy That Hungary And Slovakia Are Buying Russian Oil

The U.S. president said these countries should stop buying oil from Russia.

US President Donald Trump is not happy that Hungary and Slovakia buy Russian oil. This was stated by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky during a press conference with French leader Emmanuel Macron on Thursday, September 4.

"President Trump is very unhappy that Russian oil is being bought by Europe. There are two countries among others. We know that they are Hungary and Slovakia," Zelensky said following a conference of European leaders with the American president.

Zelensky noted that it was Hungary and Slovakia that complained to Donald Trump that they could not get oil from Russia because of the Ukrainian attacks.

"I want to remind everyone that when Russia attacked our energy, we responded by attacking their energy, which they make money from and then spend that money on weapons. It was these two countries (Hungary and Slovakia - ed.) that complained to Trump that Ukraine was reducing the possibility of getting the oil in question," Zelensky noted.

He added that he was glad that the United States had begun to talk openly about Hungary and Slovakia's economic relations with Russia, thanks to which, as Zelensky noted, the aggressor country was developing its "war machine."

"Certainly I am glad that today the United States, naming these countries, is absolutely openly talking about the fact that they are helping the Russian war machine, and we need to stop it all," the Ukrainian president emphasized.

On September 4, during an online meeting of a "coalition of the willing," Donald Trump said that Europe should stop buying Russian oil, which he said was helping Moscow finance its war against Ukraine.
