Russia Has Come Up With A New Variant Of Hidden Mobilization

Gamers are being dragged into the war against Ukraine.

Russia has started talking about plans to create "troops from gamers" who can supposedly learn to control drones faster. However, in fact, the matter is about hidden mobilization.

The Center for Countering Disinformation (CCI) reported.

The CCI noted that the relevant information about "troops" appeared in pro-Kremlin media.

"According to Russian propagandists' reports, 'shooter enthusiasts' are allegedly able to master drone control faster - in 10 hours against 40 for ordinary recruits," the report said.

The CPD noted, however, that such rhetoric is intended to covertly mobilize young people, as well as to save money on real training.

In particular, simplified courses for drone operators and "cyber troops" pass off gaming skills as full-fledged combat experience. However, this is not the case and such approaches will lead to high casualties on the part of the Russian Federation.

"Russia substitutes long-term military training with the illusion of 'game skills', which does not correspond to the realities of warfare. Such approaches threaten high losses among the mobilized and strengthen the militarization of society," the Center for Countering Disinformation explained.

The Center for Countering Disinformation also informed that the game industry in Russia is turning into a tool of state ideology and recruitment of young people. The scenario has the following phases: lectures about "patriotism", trial simulators and contract offers.
