Satellite imagery confirms a direct hit.
On the night of September 29, photos and video of a fire at the Karachev Electrodetal plant in Russia's Bryansk region appeared. Social networks wrote about explosions near the plant, NV reported on Tuesday, September 30.
Satellite images from September 30, which are available to NV, confirm a direct hit on the central building of the plant. A large hole can be seen on the roof, which was not seen in any imagery prior to September 29. Means measuring the distance from satellite photos indicate that the hole may be about 7-10 meters in size. This figure is tentative.
The head of the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD), Andrey Kovalenko, specified that the plant produces components used in missile control systems, aviation and space equipment, armored combat vehicles such as tanks and APCs, as well as communications complexes and control devices.
On the night of Monday, September 29, the Russian Telegram channel Astra, citing local residents, reported an attack on the Karachev Electrodetal Plant and a fire at the site of the strike.
Later, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed the attack.
"On September 29, units of the missile forces and artillery of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in cooperation with other components of the Defense Forces, during a missile strike, launched four products at the Karachev Electrodetal Plant OJSC (the town of Karachev in the Bryansk region of the Russian Federation). The range is more than 240 kilometers," the AFU General Staff reported.
Elektrodetal is a manufacturer of components for more than 1.5 thousand enterprises of the Russian military-industrial complex. The enterprise is part of Rostec Corporation, which is one of the key suppliers of armaments to the occupiers.
