"That's Good News."

The expert explained how it was possible to shoot down the Russian Mi-8.

There is no need to "fall into dreams" regarding the fact that Ukraine can regularly shoot down Russian aviation with drones. This opinion was expressed on the air of Radio NV by Alexei Getman, a veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war, major of the reserve, commenting on the shooting down of a Russian helicopter by an FPV drone.

"This is good news. But if you watch the video, it flew into an open door, it was not closed. That's why it was possible to destroy this helicopter. But if we believe that we can shoot down helicopters and airplanes with drones, that would be a very optimistic assumption. Yes, it's the skill of the drone pilot who was flying it. And this is a happy coincidence," Getman said.

The expert added that it would be much more difficult to shoot down other Russian helicopters, such as the Ka-52, with drones because of the work of the propellers and the strong airflow.

"There have been cases when cruise missiles were shot down with MANPADS. But that does not mean that it is a means that can be taken into consideration to shoot down in such a way. If there is a happy coincidence, it is possible to do it. But let's not believe that our drones will shoot down all Russian Federation aircraft. But I do think the Russians will become more careful. Although with the development of drones, we can assume that eventually we will get such drones that it will be possible to destroy airplanes or helicopters as well," Getman added.
