Maya Sandu's party wins the parliamentary elections.

On Sunday, September 28, parliamentary elections were held in Moldova. Voting was officially declared closed.

After 99% of ballots were counted, the party of the country's president Maya Sandu retains the lead with 49.88% of votes, while the pro-Russian Patriotic Bloc gains 24.35%, nv.ua reported.

The CEC said the overall turnout was 52%.

According to the data, among people aged 18 to 25, the turnout was 48%. The highest rate among people aged 66-75 years old. Their turnout amounted to 76.14%.

The polling stations opened at 7 a.m. and worked until 9 p.m.

The parliamentary elections held in Moldova are crucial for the country's pro-European course. Russia's attempts to influence the course and outcome of this vote are among the most powerful in recent years.
