"Lavrov Lied Again."

EU leaders reminded that Russia must continue to be pressured.

On the night of September 28, 2025, Russia launched another massive attack on Ukraine using attack drones and missiles. Four people are known to have died in Kiev. Zaporozhye, Sumy, Odessa, Khmelnitsky, Chernigov, and Mykolayiv regions were also affected. Soon reactions from European leaders to Russian terrorism began to appear.

Finnish President Alexander Stubb

"Russia is once again targeting civilians. A child and medics have been confirmed among the dead. This barbaric attack, which took place right after the UN General Assembly week, clearly exposes Russia's false narrative of war and once again shows the world the true face of the aggressor," he said on X (Twitter).

In addition, Stubb also noted that now is the time to approve the next EU sanctions package, which would be a continuation of pressure on Putin's war machine.

Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys

The politician emphasized that NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte was right when he said that it was pointless to listen to Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov's speeches.

"Nothing good and truthful comes out of his mouth. Yesterday Lavrov spoke again, this time at the UN General Assembly, and lied about Russia's commitment to the UN Charter, its principles and peace. At the same time, Russia unleashed a hail of missiles and drones on Ukraine, showing its real - terrorist - face," he said on X (Twitter).

Budris also emphasized that Russia is not making any real progress in its war of aggression against Ukraine. But Europe, in turn, needs to stop buying Russian oil and gas, increasing all-round pressure on Russia.

Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans

He recalled that Ukraine has been offering an immediate ceasefire for months, while Putin responds solely with terror and aggression.

"Only with more military power and increased pressure is peace with Russia possible," Brekelmans wrote in X (Twitter).

Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky

"It's been over a month since the events in Alaska, and it's clear: Putin wants terror, not peace. Tonight he struck Kiev again - hundreds of drones, civilians killed, including a 12-year-old girl. Our security is decided in Ukraine," Lipavskyy emphasized in X (Twitter).

He also noted that he would continue to defend the Czech initiative on artillery ammunition for Ukraine.
