Lavrov Was Delirious Behind The UN Podium

The Russian Foreign Minister spoke about the colonization of Africa and the U.S. Declaration of Independence.
The residents of Crimea and Donbass after 2014 suffered "under the oppression of colonizers" like the peoples of Africa and Asia, and in accordance with one of the principles of the US Declaration of Independence of 1776 had the right to declare independence from Kiev's rule, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said, speaking at the UN General Assembly.
"The principle is this. Governments derive their legitimacy with the consent of the governed. Both the colonizers and the Kiev regime did not have any consent of the peoples they were trying to govern," Lavrov said.
"This principle, by the way, was unanimously confirmed in the UN Declaration of 1970, which explicitly says: everyone should respect the territorial integrity of those countries whose governments represent all the people living on the relevant territory," the minister added, in passing justifying Russia's military invasion of Ukraine.
It should be noted that Lavrov spoke to a half-empty hall.
