The German Chancellor assessed the situation in the country in connection with the growth of Russian hybrid attacks.

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz believes that peace in Germany is no longer out of the question.

This is reported by Handelsblatt.

The German official explained that due to the growing number of hybrid attacks on critical infrastructure and networks, the country is no longer living in peaceful conditions.

"We are not at war, but we are not living in peace either," Merz told entrepreneurs at the Schwarz Ecosystem Summit in Berlin.

The chancellor did not name the perpetrators, but listed the range of hostile activities that concern him.

"Drone overflights, espionage, the murder in Tiergarten (of a Chechen activist by a Russian GRU officer - ed.), massive threats to individual public figures not only in Germany but also in many other European countries. Daily acts of sabotage. Attempts to paralyze data centers. Cyberattacks," Merz said.

He added that the problem has affected not only government agencies, but also businesses.

"I suspect that perhaps every other person in this room has had their data networks and infrastructure attacked at least once," the German chancellor added.
