Bloomberg: Europe Warned Moscow Of Its Readiness To Shoot Down Russian Planes

In case of provocation.

European diplomats have privately warned the Kremlin that the next provocation involving Russian planes will end in their destruction.

This is reported by Bloomberg.

The publication's sources say EU diplomats have warned Russia that NATO is ready to "respond with full force" if Russian planes continue to violate the airspace of Alliance members. Simply put, Russian planes will be shot down.

The British, French and German ambassadors told the Russians during a meeting in Moscow that they understood that the violation was a deliberate tactic by Russian troop commanders. The meeting, according to the publication's interlocutors, was "tense."

Russian officials, meanwhile, deny that their planes violated Estonian airspace and say they were allegedly not trying to provoke NATO. The incident involving a drone attack on Poland, according to the Russians' version, allegedly occurred solely because of a mistake.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov this week publicly lied that Russian military flights allegedly take international rules into account. The Kremlin continues to maintain that there was no violation of Estonian airspace by MiG-31K fighter jets.

Sources say that privately, a Russian diplomat acknowledged the incidents and told European colleagues that the Russian provocations were allegedly in response to Ukrainian attacks on temporarily occupied Crimea. They say that these attacks would not have been possible without NATO support, so the Kremlin accuses Western countries of engaging in a war against the Russians.
