Rubio Set Conditions For Lavrov During Meeting In U.S.

The U.S. Secretary of State echoed President Trump's call for an end to the killings.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov held a meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.

This was reported by Charter97.org citing an official US State Department report.

State Department spokesman Tommy Piggot confirmed that Lavrov and Rubio held a meeting as previously planned. During the meeting, the Russian minister was given a number of conditions.

"The Secretary of State reiterated President Trump's (US President Donald Trump, - ed.) call for an end to the killings and the need for Moscow to take significant steps to achieve a long-term settlement of the Russia-Ukraine war," the report said.
