The US is ready to impose "serious duties" on Moscow.

The United States is ready to impose "serious duties" on Russia if it does not agree to end the war in Ukraine. Speaking at the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, US President Donald Trump said this.

"If Russia is not prepared to enter into an agreement to end the war, the United States is fully prepared to impose very serious duties, which I believe will end the bloodshed very quickly," he said.

The US president also called on European countries to join in possible duties on Russia to make them effective.

"But in order for these duties to be effective, European countries - all of you who are gathered here today - should join us in taking the same measures. You are much closer to Russia," he said.
