GUR Fighters Destroyed Two Russian Amphibious Aircraft "Chaika" In Crimea

On the territory of the temporarily occupied Crimea, a special unit of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry's Main Directorate of Intelligence, "Ghosts," has destroyed two Russian Be-12 "Chaika" amphibious anti-submarine aircraft. This is the first case of defeat of such planes in the world practice.

The GUR noted that the event took place on September 21.

According to the agency, Be-12 "Chaika" are equipped with expensive systems to detect and fight against submarines, which makes them an important element of Russian maritime operations.

In addition to the two amphibious aircraft, during the same raid, Ukrainian scouts hit another Russian Mi-8 multi-purpose helicopter.
