The President of the United States is genuinely annoyed.
US President Donald Trump is more angry about Russian dictator Vladimir Putin's behavior behind closed doors than he is in public. This was said in an interview with The Telegraph by the US president's special envoy General Keith Kellogg.
"He (Trump - ed.) is annoyed. He thought his personal relationship with Putin would get results. Instead, Putin is screwing him over. Behind closed doors, President Trump is much angrier than he is in public," Kellogg said.
In addition, the general admitted that he has disagreements with Trump on the path to ending the war in Ukraine. He admitted that he is a proponent of ending the war through a cease-fire.
"The problem is that Putin thinks he's winning, so he won't agree to peace yet. Trump prefers peace talks first. I, on the other hand, prefer a ceasefire first, because once it stops, it's hard to restore," he added.
Separately, Kellogg drew attention to the extent to which Russia ignores the enormous human cost:
"It's astounding. Russia doesn't care about human life. The public doesn't either. That's what's appalling. This is a nation that lost 68,000 dead at Stalingrad in 1942-1943 and didn't even blink an eye."
