Poland most of all.

Eurostat has published fresh statistics for 2024 on the issuance of primary residence permits, writes "Belsat". The new data suggest that more than half a million people left Belarus after 2020.

Belarusians in 2024 received 174,790 primary residence permits in the EU.

In Eurostat statistics, a "primary residence permit" is any document issued for the first time, which gives the right to live in an EU country for more than three consecutive months. This refers not only to classical residence permits (residence permits), but also to national long-term visas (type D), including humanitarian, work, study and other visas. At the same time, these figures do not include temporary protection, do not take into account short-term visas up to 90 days and do not include extensions or replacement of already issued documents.

The largest number of such documents for Belarusians was issued in Poland - 151,116 (86%). The second place is occupied by Lithuania - 15,812 documents. Germany (1,411) and Spain (1,404), which issued almost equal number of permits, competed for the third place.

Most of them are people aged 30-39, mostly men, who go to work.
