Belarusian customs officers threaten with legal liability for 1,453 Polish trucks that are stuck on the territory of Belarus.
"Their exit is possible only through the Belarusian-Polish border," says the Belarusian Customs Committee.
As the head of one of the transport companies operating on the market told wp.pl, drivers currently have to register with Belarusian customs officers and count on their favor. Each day of parking costs 66 euros.
It is impossible to exit through Lithuania because it violates the rules:
- There is no way to bypass the system. Each truck receives a sealed GPS device upon entry and is monitored remotely. Fines of hundreds of euros are threatened for breaking the rules. Drivers can't try to pass through Lithuania because if they do, they won't be allowed through and will be fined immediately. I hate this thuggish approach to Poles. Most of the drivers working for Polish companies are Belarusians, but above all, our capital is under threat: trailers, cars and cargo are the stake in this game," emphasized the entrepreneur, who wished to remain anonymous.
