Former Ukrainian Ambassador To Belarus: Lukashenko Has Been Dealt A Serious Blow

The regime framed its partners.
Former Ambassador of Ukraine in Minsk Igor Kizim commented on "European Pravda" Poland's decision to close the border with Belarus:
- At the same time, the European policy is becoming more and more independent from the American one. Including with regard to Belarus.
The EU is demonstrating that although Trump can promise something, the real steps to lift sanctions depend on Europe.
The fact that Poland is now closing the border with Belarus is to some extent a European response. Brussels now reacts normally to it and does not stop the Poles.
Closing the borders is a very serious step. And a serious blow to Lukashenko.
After 2014, when Ukraine de facto ceased to be a transit country, it was Belarus that became a key transit country for Chinese and Russian goods to Europe.
And the fact that Chinese high-ranking officials are coming to Belarus after Poland's decision to close the border shows that, according to their logic, whatever the reason for this decision, it was Belarus that screwed its partners, because it failed to ensure its mission as a transit country for Chinese goods.
Reminder, on the eve of the West-2025 exercise, Poland closed the border with Belarus, blocking the land corridor for Chinese goods to Europe.
Warsaw seeks Lukashenko to stop hybrid attacks and release of prisoners of the regime.
