The parties are only discussing humanitarian issues.

Kiev and Moscow are not currently holding talks on ending the war that began in May, the head of Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council (NSDC), Rustem Umerov, told CNN in an interview. According to him, the sides limited themselves to contacts to solve humanitarian issues, in particular on the exchange of prisoners of war. At the same time, Umerov recalled that during Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky's latest visit to Washington, an agreement was reached to hold a bilateral and trilateral summit with Russian and US Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump.

"We are waiting for trilateral, bilateral meetings to take place," Umerov said, adding that Moscow has the ball on its side in this matter. At the same time, the head of the National Security and Defense Council noted that the Russian military intends to launch up to a thousand drones a day to strike Ukraine by the end of the year. "This shows that Russia does not have serious intentions to end the war," - emphasized Umerov. Before that, the Kremlin urged not to wear "rose-colored glasses" and not to expect that the negotiations on the settlement in Ukraine will give "lightning results". "The Russian side maintains its readiness to follow the path of peaceful dialog," but there is a pause in the talks because the process is "hindered" by European countries, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
