Polish Foreign Minister Names The Condition For Opening The Border With Belarus

China promised to have a "frank conversation" with Lukashenko.

Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski in the air of Polsat spoke about the conversation with Chinese diplomatic chief Wang Yi, which took place on September 15. According to the foreign minister, the conversation was also about the border with Belarus.

On a clarifying question about China wanting an open border between Belarus and Poland, Sikorski said that the Polish condition is security at the borders.

"It is in a certain sense very simple. If it is possible to drive across this border, then gangs of pseudo-refugees driven by Lukashenko cannot prowl there. It must be safe both along and across it," Sikorski said.

The Nesweek newspaper, citing sources in the Polish Foreign Ministry, writes that Chinese diplomatic chief Wang Yi made it clear to Sikorski that the Chinese authorities "will have a frank conversation with Lukashenko" about the situation on the Polish border.

Reminder, on the eve of the "West-2025" exercise, Poland closed the border with Belarus, blocking the land corridor for Chinese cargoes to Europe.

Warsaw seeks Lukashenko to stop hybrid attacks and release of prisoners of the regime.
