Maxim Ryzhenkov accused the Polish authorities of "imperial ambitions".
"Individual Polish politicians" are trying to realize "Polish, imperial ambitions" through measures of "economic and political pressure." Such a statement was made by Foreign Minister of Belarus Maxim Ryzhenkov, BelTA informs.
- Unfortunately, we have to note how some Polish politicians are looking down on the Belarusians today, trying to realize the Polish, imperial ambitions through economic and political pressure," said the head of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry.
Ryzhenkov suggested those who don't believe him, "just go and see the situation on the border, how our citizens are mocked and how they are treated, to see that today the border is closed - all this under the pretexts of algorithms, incomprehensible to us in general, beyond common sense."
We recall that September 9, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced the decision to completely close the border with Belarus at midnight on September 11-12. He explained this step by the "growing number of provocations from Russia and Belarus" and joint military exercises "West-2025."
The border was closed indefinitely. Poland's Minister of Interior and Administration Marcin Kerwiński, who signed the decree to this effect, emphasized that the Polish side does not intend to "keep the border closed even one day unnecessarily."
September 12, Maxim Ryzhenkov said that Poland will resume the work of checkpoints on the border with Belarus after the Russian-Belarusian joint exercise "Zapad-2025" is over.
- They will not go anywhere. They will open the border. Because in fact, as I now assume, they have completed their first task - they have raised the situation on the border to incredible heights," said the head of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry.
As of September 17, Poland still hasn't opened the border with Belarus.
