The drone launch was a targeted operation against Lithuania.
The Gerbera drone, which fell on the territory of Lithuania at the end of July, was launched from the territory of Belarus, not just flown from there.
This became known to Delfi from "well-informed sources".
According to Defli, the drone launch was a "targeted operation" against Lithuania, the purpose of which was not only to test the capabilities of air defense, but also "to produce a psychological effect".
Sources of the portal believe that this is why the drone was launched over Vilnius at an altitude, where it was not detected by air defense radars.
The drone, which is believed to have been launched from the territory of Belarus, was found not only a powerful explosive device, but also "a modern onboard computer and at least one SIM-card," writes Delfi.
The drone, which flew into Lithuania on July 28, was found three days later on the territory of the firing range in Jonava district - almost in the center of the country near Kaunas. After that, a representative of the Belarusian Embassy was summoned to the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry for explanations.
