This was reported by Zelensky.

The Russian offensive operation on Sumy has been completely thwarted by Ukrainian forces, President Vladimir Zelensky said on Friday, September 12, following the results of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Stavka.

"Fighting continues in the border area of Sumy region, but the Russian grouping in the Sumy direction has lost offensive capabilities due to the losses suffered," the Ukrainian president wrote.

Also, according to Zelensky, Ukraine continues to actively counter Russian assault activity in Donetsk region and Zaporizhzhya.

"I am grateful to all our soldiers, sergeants and officers who carry out combat tasks in the relevant areas and inflict tangible losses on the Russians," the president added.

On August 26, the AFU commander-in-chief Alexander Syrsky reported positive changes on the front, particularly in the border areas of Sumy and Kharkiv regions.

He said that positive dynamics was observed in the border areas of Sumy and Kharkiv regions, largely due to the active actions of soldiers of the 225th Assault Regiment, 71st Yeager Brigade and units of the Special Operations Forces.
